Deployed with the Texas State Guard to work at the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) as the Military District Coordinator/ Emergency Manager for area 4B disaster district. Working alongside the district coordinator, I am responsible for managing all the active troops in the 4B area of operations. I coordinate the assignments and offer recommendations of staffing levels, team assignment and specialized teams for specific missions during times of operation. I work alongside local, state and federal law enforcement and fire Emergency Operations Centers in the only active District office in the state of Texas.I am managing the Mobile testing teams, logistics support, aircraft assignments and medical staff. Additionally, I am responsible for the recovery and assessment teams being utilized to combat Covid-19 outbreaks in Nursing Home Centers and Jails/Prisons. I also coordinate the transportation of testing kits daily to and from test sites to labs for testing.

I'm responsible for reviewing referrals for possible fraud in claims, including complex claims deemed to be of the utmost importance. I assist hiring and supervising the other investigator in DFW while managing my own case load. I have high expertise in uncovering fraud in a claim, investigating the circumstances around the claim and extracting confessions when fraud has been proven. I regularly examine SIU investigations to determine consistency, ensure quality and successful outcomes of investigations. I provide guidance on investigations to ensure proper fraud reporting procedures and documentation. I have a strong working relationship with local, state and federal law enforcement, as well as a strong partnership with NICB Special Agents.

In my role with USAA, I investigated possible cases of insurance fraud, assemble evidence, and recommend action steps to unit head for discussion with company attorneys. I have developed a broad presence in the company assisting line managers with questions about cases of possible fraud. I conduct fraud training and auto theft prevention training throughout the company and act as a liaison between USAA and law enforcement at all levels. Part of the team that trained 600 adjusters and claims handlers to conduct recorded interviews and assist with auto theft investigations. Prepare criminal cases for prosecution and recommend cases for subrogation.
