The consortium comprises of work streams including finance, legal, architecture, construction, operations and maintenance, and engineering. Following successful shortlisting from 6 to 3 bidders for the Request for Proposal stage, the consortium is working with the client to develop the Request for Proposals, with our responses due back in early 2016.We successfully implemented a change of leadership to the pursuit ahead of my return to the UK with an experienced colleague from Balfour Beatty Investments taking over my responsibilities to lead the team approximately one month prior to my departure. I introduced my colleague to the project over three months to ensure a successful handover, including making sure the client benefited from a smooth transition, and that our team built a strong relationship with my colleague before the change in leadership was implemented. I used the month prior to my departure to support my colleague to ensure any outstanding questions or issues were closed out.I also managed the financial close process for the second phase of graduate apartments at our project at the University of Iowa, with financial close achieved in May 2015. Responsible for risk management, schedule to financial close, ensuring internal approvals and working with finance, development and legal colleagues to ensure project parameters are achieved.Other responsibilities included representing Balfour Beatty at industry conferences, most recently the Academic Impressions Financing Campus Facilities through Public/Private Partnerships conference in San Diego. I have also developed a project risk tool for our campus projects. -

Volunteering And TravellingVolunteering And Travelling Apr 2006 - Aug 2006India And EuropeBetween leaving the Royal Bank of Scotland and joining Balfour Beatty Investments I spent 5 months away from work, first volunteering at an orphanage/shelter near Chennai, India, and secondly on an inter-rail trip around eastern Europe.VOLUNTEERINGI volunteered at the Mudhiyor Balar Kudumba Grama Pannai orphanage/shelter, Kasam, Katpadi, Vellore, Tamil Nadu 632007 India. I spent time getting to know the children, the destitute mothers (the orphanage/shelter provides this support) and the staff. I contributed by working with the children and mothers to improve their English, understanding their backgrounds and spending social time to build friendships. A valuable experience, with a particularly memorable excursion for the children and mothers to a boarding school on a holiday break a highlight.TRAVELFollowing the volunteering trip in India, I travelled eastern Europe by rail with my youngest brother and a friend of ours. Beginning in Croatia with a trip to the fabulous historic city of Dubrivnik, we took in Split, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Prague, Krakow, Katowice and Berlin before returning home. Budapest was a particular favourite of mine, which I have visited again since.This period also included a move to London upon returning from the trip to Europe, ahead of starting my Graduate Programme with Balfour Beatty Investments.
