Our whole story started with Benjamin, when he was fresh out of high school, starting his engineering studies. His father is a winemaker for a Bordeaux-based company and he used to come home every evening, complaining about how annoying it was to take samples every day. You know, when you try to take a sample, seeds or grape skin can get in the way, and the sample you get is not always true to what's in the tank because it was stuck in the tap for a while. For a school project, Benjamin decided to tackle those problems head on and started designing what has now become Hekinox. He was joined along the way by Aurélien and myself to take this project to another level. Our company, D-Innovation opened its doors in June 2017 and is now thriving in France. So the concept behind D-Innovation is to make sample-taking easier, faster and safer, with a new kind of tap to replace the existing ones. With a very simple mechanism, we can break any blockage that occurs while taking samples, ensuring constant wine-flow. It's also easy to clean and really sturdy, it's Made in France - like us !
