My chief accomplishment at Adva was scaling up our biggest customer by 75% over the course of 5 years. I was responsible for our scale testing environment and finding and fixing any scale issues that arose. I was responsible for I was able to single-handedly fix a new product that would have taken a month to startup under scale to about an hour for an improvement of 720 times. I had responsibilities in implementing architectural changes to the system, as the product suffered from a lack of modularization. The product is a network management system, which is implemented in Java. I used Oracle and Postgres RDBMS, as well as Vaadin for user interface development.

Developed in Java for the Investment Book of Record product, which manages events that happen to investment holdings between the end of a trading day and the start of the next day. Gained in depth knowledge of stock, bond, and mortgage backed securities among others.

There have been several projects that I’ve contributed to during my time at CA Technologies. Most recently, during 2013, I’ve been part of a team working on a tool called Guided User Experience for the developing SaaS architecture to allow product managers to present product specific content to users to allow them to get value from our products faster. During this time I've been using the following technologies: JavaEE, REST web interfaces, Javascript (ExtJS framework), Cassandra database, Spring Framework, TestNG and JUnit for automated unit tests, Hudson, Maven, OSGi, Karaf, Tycho, Eclipse, Perforce and Rational Team Concert for source code control. This project used Agile and Scrum for development.During 2012, the same team created a new interface using the SaaS infrastructure for an existing product, using many of the same tools as the Guided User Interface. We constructed a portlet for the Liferay web portal, which included work in Javascript using ExtJS, JavaEE, SpringSource, and JSP.During 2010 and 2011, I worked on a project that was to re-architect an existing project for network equipment monitoring using more current technologies and methodologies. It was at this time that I was trained in Agile methodologies and the Scrum process. The project is written entirely in Java using the SpringSource tool kit, as well as Apache Maven for a build framework and Apache Karaf as an OSGi container. I worked on the component which was responsible for collecting SNMP data from network equipment which would then be passed by an Apache ActiveMQ broker to a central database for persistence. Prior to that, I developed software for the eHealth network management system. Coding in C++ and shell scripting on Solaris, Windows and HP platforms. Working heavily with Oracle RDBMS, learning the internals thereof. It was during this time that I was involved in work that was later patented under US Patent number 8,606,756.

Developed C code for the Oryx call management system. Gained familiarity with real time software for rating prepaid calls. I became the staff expert on SS7, ISDN, and inband call signalling technologies. Utilized SCO Unix and Linux platforms and MySQL RDBMS.

Designed and developed Fortran and C applications which in-house meterologists used to edit computer model based forecasts, which were then formatted and disseminated to energy clients. Utilized HP and SGI platforms, and Informix RDBMS.
