👨🏼‍💻 I am a software engineering professional with a focus to aggressively self teach myself all things computer science and up skill myself to become a senior => staff+ level software engineer 🚀I call myself a software engineer and strive to live up to that title, with not being satisfied with just having high level understanding of how things work.This started from my interest in understanding Node.js and diving into understanding it's inner workings, C++ bindings and it's C libuv library. Steering me towards learning computer architecture, and how C harnesses the power of I/O for us to make Node based RESTful APIs.My current employment is as a full-stack developer, with a weighted focus on the back-end. Building scalable game servers (state machine) and services by harnessing the power of events with using sockets in a node environment, as well as plumbing the backend into the front-end with React context.Outside of work I am focusing my professional development on learning and deeply understanding backend development. From a high-level system design point of view to going deep into the understanding of the why and how things work at the computer and operating system, networking, and database levels. This doesn't mean to understand how Postgres works and how to setup a DB, I mean going to the source code, reading it's implementation in C and understand the design decisions made, what trade offs were made etc. This aspiration to deeply understand things is not for everyone, and maybe overkill for some people. For me, I want to innovate and challenge the status quo. To solve the difficult problems.As a result of my efforts for self growth and learning, along with consistently producing high quality software has recently been recognised and rewarded with my promotion from Junior Developer to Software Developer (July 2024).
