I am a 4th year student majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in French and Political Decision Making at the Ohio State University. I have gained experience in Quality Control with Nestle through a previous internship and am currently gaining knowledge about Quality Assurance from a biotechnology standpoint with Forge Biologics. I am proficient in Quality Systems, routinely running investigation for any deviations that occur. The deviations range from difficulties with ddPCR and qPCR machines and bioreactor data transmission loss to power surge and outage issues. Because of this experience, I have learned about this ins and outs of industry and have successfully updated/implemented training protocols for future employers to use our quality system.I have also worked in research and development with the Ohio State University's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. I synthesized different, new peptide chains for nanotube/nanofiber assemblies. This research has allowed me to become proficient with instruments such as HPLC, CD, H NMR, and Mass Spectrometry. I have also taken courses within the biochemistry lab where I gained experience using spectrophotometers, PCR, cell transformations/transfections, and chromatography methods. Organic Synthesis is one of my passions, and I hope to combine my knowledge of Organic Chemistry with my knowledge of biochemistry to eventually research unusual peptide chains and protein function for medicinal use.
