About Ben Wellington
I work full time at Two Sigma! I do plenty of research there and I helped launched the firm's pro bono Data Clinic, which works with non-profits to leverage their data and advance their work.I also run I Quant NY, a data science and policy blog that focuses on insights drawn from New York City's public data, and advocates for the expansion and improvement of that data. My data analysis has influenced local government policy including changes in NYC street infrastructure, the way New Yorkers pay for cabs and the design of NYC subway vending machines.I'm a contributor to The New Yorker, and a Visiting Assistant Professor in the City & Regional Planning program at The Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where I teach urban planners about statistics. I also lead team building and workplace training workshops for Cherub Improv, a non-profit that uses improv comedy for social good.
