Voldaan is a FinTech scale-up that, since its start in 2014, has quickly grown into one of the market leaders in the Dutch factoring landscape. Voldaan buys B2B invoices from SME’s and makes sure they get settled the same day. Customers determine how often and how many invoices they want to sell. Voldaan uses a transparent pricing model, pay-per-use at a fixed price, that is the same for each customer, and no other collateral is needed than the invoice itself. As Commercial Director I am responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of the sales strategy to achieve the commercial KPIs. Also, I have P&L responsibility for the commercial department. In addition to coaching our sales team, I am accountable for online sales, and the partner program. Together with the two co-founders, I am part of the executive team that is responsible for the company’s strategy and daily management. Since I became Commercial Director I introduced several changes. At first, I introduced a KPI set and restructured the department to get better focus and work more efficiently. By mapping the sales funnel, an action list for optimization has been drawn up, which is completed step by step. Under my supervision, major steps have been taken in the further implementation of the CRM system, and currently, we are at the first phase of introducing Marketing Automation. And finally, we designed and implemented a new omnichannel onboarding process, which has led to a seamless digital customer journey. All of this has led to triple-digit growth while reducing costs by double digits.

As Manager Strategic Programs I was responsible for the various programs that support the execution of the strategy of BarnStone, the parent company of Voldaan. The activities varied from functioning as a sounding board to the management team in strategic decision making, like for instance in developing the international expansion plans, to establishing and optimizing partnerships with key players in financial services. Two examples of programs: ✓ First, the development and execution of a Partner Program. This program offers standardized guidelines for the phased establishment, building, and maintenance of commercial partnerships. Partners are established parties in the financial sector like Credion, Exact, Knab, and SNS. Next to direct and online sales, the Partner Program has become the third distribution channel for the Dutch Factoring product. Depending on the type of partner, one of the four collaboration models is put in place, varying from the Referral Partner model to Resellers of a white label. ✓ Second, the market introduction of the Invoice Index. BarnStone has developed a register based on blockchain technology, which provides insight into which collateral has been established on receivables at what time. The introduction of the register includes the coordination and implementation of various action points. From planning and conduction interviews with relevant stakeholders like financial services companies, governmental institutions, consultancy firms, and universities, to setting up the governance structure and pricing model. To conclude, I made business analysis for the management team and shareholders, and I was responsible for the coaching of our marketeer and interns.

I was asked to contribute to the further growth and professionalization of the organization, and to have an advisory role to the management.
