Protection Officer
Current- Possession Protection Officer- Isolation Protection Officer - Handsignaller level crossings As a protection officer I proactively involve myself in the strategic direction of the Safeworking & Incident response team. as a trained Health and Safety Representative I was asked to be involved in the development of a risk assessment for a new multiple workgroup register in line with the requirements of MD-14-166. I was involved from the beginning, and throughout the trial helping to correlate feedback and modifying the new form to suit the needs of the business and the field workers. I am pro-active in seeking out opportunities to shadow and learn the Network Shift Asset Manager role. An on-going learning opportunity the NSAM is responsible for the management of SEQ assets network during their daily operation by monitoring all SEQ assets for faults, irregularities ensuring timely and accurate communication of information regarding breakdowns performing the role of lead coordinator for the SEQ Maintenance and Operations teams for major incidents, particularly during non-standard working hours (e.g., derailments/de-wirements).
