Race mechanic for Jackson Goldstone on the Santa Cruz Syndicate World Cup downhill team.Based in Morzine, France but travelling globally throughout the year for races, events, and testing. Working within both a larger team environment and independently with my rider, building and tear down of our pit set up, maintenance and set up of his race bike, use of data acquisition and bike set up knowledge to improve the ride quality depending on track, and assisting with any other needs during race week.Working with Jackson in his final junior season of 2022, and into his first elite season for 2023 and beyond. 2022 -UCI Downhill World Cup Junior championRedbull Hardline Winner2023 -Second overall in his debut men’s elite season, and only rider to win two races in the season. The Syndicate also win team of the year. Fastest rider at Australia and New Zealand national championships.2024 -Injury at Redbull Hardline Tasmania in February sees Jackson sidelined for the season with a ruptured ACL and MCL. Ollie Davis joins the team for the year, after a difficult start with minimal testing and set up time we work towards his career best result of 8th at the World Championships in Andorra.

Working as a full time mechanic maintaining the company’s fleet of road, downhill, and enduro bikes, whilst also taking on any repairs that may come through the door. Working around time pressure to have bikes ready each day, and parts shortages forcing some creative repairs. Everyday face to face interaction with customers providing advice and set up help, also improving my spoken French when conversing with French clients.

Mobile ski technician delivering rental ski and snowboard equipment to customers in Morzine and the surrounding area, setting up bindings and boots, and altering equipment to the customers’ needs. Regularly using company vehicles, taking payments, and advising customers on different types of ski equipment.

Employed for Spring and Autumn in Finale Ligure and Summer in Morzine as the company mechanic, responsible for maintaining and managing seven hire mountain bikes and fixing customers’ bikes during their stay. While also sharing uplift and transfer driving responsibilities when in Finale Ligure in a largely independent and self managed role. Focusing exclusively on my mechanical role in Morzine offering hire bikes and workshop services to 60+ guests staying throughout our properties in resort, working with constant time pressure to have customer's bikes ready to ride for each day of their holiday.

I worked additional hours part time as a bartender for Compass Group at their Snowdome site, using my existing customer service skills to gain additional experience, income, and access to the slope.

Starting at the cycle shop part time whilst at college and moving to full time after a year, I was in a varied and dynamic customer facing role for the entirety of my employment. I was a key holder for four years, opening and closing the shop most days with regular sales reports and cash handling. I was often the first point of contact for customers entering the store while also managing our social media presence and planning online marketing. In the last two years I increased the amount of time I spent in our workshop servicing and repairing high end mountain and road bikes, and gained my Cytech and Engineering Maintenance qualifications.
