Responsible for all aspects of the external developer experience, from onboarding and API documentation to authorization (OAuth 2.0) and administration of the API Gateway (Azure API Management).Program has 9k+ registered developers building solutions, increasing customer adoption and retention.SKY ADD-INSI lead the UX extensibility project, introducing a SaaS-friendly way for developers to inject custom UI seamlessly into Blackbaud’s host applications. Leverages iframes and a client-side JavaScript API for communication between the add-in and host page and was built to accommodate the various UI tech stacks in use within Blackbaud products.This capability inspired a new generation of Partner-built solutions, giving customers even more choice and flexibility for experiencing 3rd-party functionality.BLACKBAUD MARKETPLACEI created the Blackbaud Marketplace, a customer-facing experience for discovering applications built by Partner ISVs. Now home to 200+ listings from the Partner ecosystem, this program provides high visibility for Partners ISVs who can augment core product functionality by bringing in data and features from their systems.POWER PLATFORM CONNECTORSWorking directly with Microsoft, I created several certified connectors to embrace the "low-code" citizen developer movement and enable customers to build complex workflows that automate their unique business processes. This extends the reach of Blackbaud solutions by plugging into the broader Power Platform ecosystem.I created internal and external-facing documentation, tutorials, and public blog posts, and am regarded as a leader, subject matter expert, and evangelist within the Community.

I was founding member of Blackbaud's Core Technology team and a key architect for Blackbaud's Infinity Platform, a metadata-driven system that serves as the foundation for Blackbaud's early SaaS applications (Blackbaud CRM, Blackbaud Altru, and Blackbaud ResearchPoint). Those products are in use today by more than 60 enterprise-level non-profit organizations representing more than $65M in annual recurring revenue.I developed the metadata language for creating tables and supporting artifacts in the underlying SQL Server database.I wrote the original conversion tool that formed the basis for Blackbaud’s conversion team upgrading the largest Raiser’s Edge 7 customers to Blackbaud CRM.I created the in-product "Page designer" feature, which allows customers to self-service customize many aspects of the product, including top-level menu navigations, and custom pages.I was responsible for the server-side “forms extensibility” model, which allowed external developers to customize and extend native data entry forms within the product.I served as the architect for the Infinity Platform SDK and became the primary evangelist for this era of products. I was considered a key subject matter expert and a point of contact for SDK questions, and I worked across many departments to help build out the Partner/external-developer ecosystem.I provided on-site instruction to customers and was a frequent top-speaker at Blackbaud's BBCON customer conference.

I was responsible for building the overall Giving module and other core functionality for Blackbaud’s flagship fundraising product, The Raiser's Edge 7, which today represents a $100M recurring revenue source for Blackbaud with 30k+ weekly active users in use by over 10k+ non-profit organizations.I implemented the SQLServer database structures, COM-based data object layer, and Windows desktop client user interface for the Giving module.I also built the Membership Scanning area of the product, which allows membership-based organizations to issue membership cards to visitors, and have those cards scanned at entry kiosks for streamlined admission.

I started my career as a maintenance programmer on Blackbaud's DOS-based Raiser's Edge 5 product, and within 6 months became the sole developer responsible for minor feature enhancements, bug fixes, and data patches.I worked closely with Blackbaud's Customer Support team to triage and address customer reported issues, often physically transporting repaired customer data to the FedEx office after-hours for shipping back to a (down) customer.I transitioned to the team building/maintaining the Windows version of Raiser’s Edge, where I became a subject matter expert on the Constituent and Giving modules.
