Benjamin Egan is a people focused, culture shaper working to grow the next generation of leaders. He is currently the Production Engineering Core Skills Team Manager. He holds two degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and has over a decade of experience in manufacturing. He worked for various manufacturing companies including a Boeing supplier where he focused as a Project Engineer on the F-35 jet engine for Pratt & Whitney.After joining Boeing in 2016, Benjamin worked the 747/767 program as an international offload manager for tool engineering. He also worked as a tooling liaison engineer, where he ensured the mechanics making our airplanes had everything they needed to do their jobs safely and efficiently. His designs were nominated for their ergonomic appeal, and even won him the 747 Engineer of the Year award in 2018.In December of 2018, Benjamin joined Product Development program. As the Product Owner of the 20 member Tooling team, Benjamin worked with senior leadership to create features, capabilities, and roadmaps to develop the production system of the future using the AGILE methodology. In 2020, Benjamin shifted his focus to Model Based Engineering in Cameo and 3DX working to understand their potentials and limitations. He then moved over to Systems Engineering and Integration, focusing on production system conops and use case development. In 2021, Benjamin joined Production Engineering Core as the Skills Team manager working on Functional Excellence by developing our Skills architecture, identifying skill gaps, aligning our pipeline for future sustainability, and understanding how to train, retain, and hire top talent. Benjamin is also a member of the Leadership Next Program [LX], Boeing’s premier leadership development program for the highest performing and highest potential non-managers who aspire to move into formal or technical leadership. With a global presence, and a focus on diversity and inclusion, he helped to achieve a 30% international applicant pool.While Benjamin stays extremely busy and challenged in his professional career, he has an arguably harder role in his personal life where he is a father of 3 kids who are all 7 or under. They keep him honest by pulling no punches, and push him to strengthen his emotional intelligence. While the days are long Benjamin still finds time to enjoy video games, racing cars, photography, and enjoying life. If you see him give him a high five!
