17 years of humbling experience in HR from companies founded by iconic entrepreneurs of history - Shiv Nadar, Bill & Dave and Edison. We seldom realize the impact companies leave on our life. Working for HCL, HP and GE was/is an indebted life defining experience. The exciting journey continues in Cytiva, a company with a proven past and new beginning.It all started at my alma mater Loyola, a college that taught life lessons. But for the recession hit 2002, I would not have realized the meaning of earning an employment.Journey began with HCL as HR Executive. My job was to welcome new joiners, verify their documents and generate their employee ID as some wittily asked for a fancy number 😊 As a HR executive I did A to Z of last mile HR delivery. “Z” stood for Zumba as employee engagement 😊 Hiring, on boarding, policy, sending anniversary cakes home, attending employee wedding, birthday facials, and at times being a shoulder (literally) during painful moments of life/death. A career that taught me to place Human ahead of Human Resources early on.Career progressed to HP. A progression from HR executive to HR Business partner. This meant more meetings, time with managers, sensitive discussions and complex problems. HP taught contrasting seasons of HR. 2008 & 2009 were the toughest yet best. Business demanded to fire more than hire. An unforgettable day in life was when I was delivering the news of job impact to an employee, he got a call from home stating his wife delivered a baby. HR puts you in the most paradoxical situations and demands balance.My pursuit of OD took me to GE, a place unparalleled. GE OD leader offered a shift from microscopic to telescopic view. Invented a lot in HR than just discovered. Founded OD programs for workforce planning, culture, change management, succession, retention, mission-based team, diversity & inclusion and performance development. From OD career took the right turn into HR Business partnering, this time with much more depth & complexity.The calling in HR has now taken me to one of the most exciting career spots. The purpose of the business is to solve the toughest diseases; the science of the business holds future of health; the people of the business are rooted in purpose; the role is to build a brand for tomorrow; the name of the business is Cytiva.Cytiva has grown wings in me with a role that covers Asia Pacific. I fly with freedom, responsibility and purpose to make Cytiva a meaningful identity.
