I’m an experienced engineering manager and business partner leading global cross-functional teams from multiple departments in highly technical software development projects from white board through verification, validation, release and installation. As an industrial engineer and software manager, I can look at the big picture and break it down to manageable tasks for the team, while digging down into the trenches with my detailed-oriented software engineering experience to tackle anything from BIOS, device drivers, imaging, product development, manufacturing, hardware, inventory, finance, and documentation. I have a minor in accounting including experience developing accounting software from scratch. As such, I can speak of projects and tasks in terms of Return on Investment, burden rates, capital expenses, etc. Strong experience in coordinating remote individuals from all over the world. As such, I can assess the capabilities of team members to assign them where they are most effective for any given project. I have a practical and analytical approach to managing tasks, issues, and impossible schedules. Using tools such as Team Foundation Server, I manage product requirements by weighing their priorities against deadlines. My co-workers say that I am not a typical introverted software engineer because of my ability to engage and involve the most reluctant team members. Despite all the work, I take the time to develop deep personal relationships with others because I still recognize that we work to live. We do not live to work.
