As a music director at IO I have explored the emotional-narrative spectrum of music through spontaneous accompaniment to improvised performance.Theater is actualized in three phases: The composition of an idea, the interpretation of the performer, and the reception of the audience. Improv has all three elements happening simultaneously.In that same spirit, I have the challenge of composing, performing, and reacting simultaneously throughout an entire performance. It is great fun.

Restaurant management requires a love for the work. A good manager creates a vision of their restaurant's experience and empowers their employees to realize that vision for patrons.There have been several managers at Bar Pastoral while I have worked here, and in the interim phases I have offered to adopt additional responsibilities to help our restaurant thrive. While my passion lies in the interpersonal curation of serving and bar tending, I perpetually hunger for new skills and experience.Since taking this position, I have grown in my understanding of purchasing, schedule development, general management of employees, and addressing specific concerns of customers.

Serving is initially performance: inhabit the experience imagined by the restaurant.You discover the patterns in the space, the expectations of the patrons, the beauty of the food, the drink, the room.Then, when you fall into the rhythm of each evening, serving becomes a relationship. You are a new friend, excited by the gift you have to offer.

Tend a large bar while preparing drinks for the rest of the house. Develop and maintain a knowledgeable environment for patrons and return customers. Prepare espresso beverages and house cocktails.
