Dr LaHood is an internationally recognised ophthalmic surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in laser vision correction and cataract surgery with an emphasis on refractive outcomes.Operations he performs are:1) Laser vision correction with LASIK, SMILE and PRK techniques2) Cataract surgery with toric, multifocal and latest lens technologies3) Corneal collagen crosslinking4) Oculoplastics procedures including blepharoplasty and skin cancer excisionEducation and TrainingDr LaHood graduated with his medical degree from the University of Otago. He completed his specialist training in Ophthalmology in New Zealand before undertaking subspecialty training in refractive surgery in Adelaide, Australia. Dr LaHood performs research particularly in the area of astigmatism and its management. He has published his work in peer reviewed journals and regularly presents internationally. Dr LaHood is also involved in teaching, running annual courses at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons on toric IOLs and also annually teaches cataract surgery to senior trainees in ophthalmology.
