Sawtooth Outdoor Education offers cutting-edge technical skills courses for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts alike. Provide strategic direction for the Center's research agenda. Design, fund, and execute collaborative empirical research for data-driven solutions. Direct and deliver fee-based natural resource consulting services for land managers. Develop and deliver innovative solutions for managing recreation and natural resources. Function as a liaison between the Center for Outdoor Ethics and federal, state, and municipal land management agencies, the outdoor industry, and the recreating public. Guide strategic direction of nationally recognized education programs, training opportunities, partnerships, and science-based curriculum development. Extensive work on domestic and international environmental initiatives with numerous national and global partners.

Directed, coordinated and managed all aspects of nationwide education and training efforts in cooperation with over 700 partners, including agencies, NGOs, youth-serving groups, environmental organizations, as well as thousands of volunteer educators. Functioned as a liaison between the Center for Outdoor Ethics and federal, state, and municipal land management agencies, the outdoor industry, and the recreating public. Guided strategic direction of nationally recognized education programs, training opportunities, and science-based curriculum development. Designed, funded, and executed collaborative empirical research for data-driven solutions. Directed and delivered fee-based natural resource consulting services for land managers. Additional responsibilities included curriculum development, management of national partnership programs, volunteer management, and coordinating robust outreach efforts. Worked directly with volunteer Trail clubs and federal land management partners tocoordinate management and protection of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in Georgia,North Carolina, and Tennessee. Functioned as liaison between Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), agency partners and volunteers. Responsible for open-areas management, volunteer training, oversight of regional ridgerunner/caretaker programs, and trail crews. Also researched and developed strategies for sanitation at overnight sites on the A.T.

Facilitated swiftwater rescue instruction for private paddlers, emergency medical providers, and outdoor educators. Instructed group and private white water kayak courses. Developed curriculum and consulted on program design. Assisted with the development of risk management strategies and long-range planning. Designed and implemented program safety guidelines and procedures.

Assisted in managing day-to-day operations. Coordinated personnel management, including scheduling, job placement, performance evaluation and employee training. Provided workshops for customers on various outdoor skills and topics.
