My interest in the food animal industry started while I was in High School and working as a Milker on a local dairy. That job directly influenced my decision to study animal science at UC Davis. Throughout my undergrad I worked on the university feed lot, in the beef unit doing AI and in the Center for Equine Health. These experiences helped focus my interest on the beef industry. After graduation I was disappointed to not be accepted into vet school. Not wanting to leave the industry, I spent the subsequent six years working as a dairy manager and then as a ranch hand on a 20,000 acre cattle ranch. In 2014 I was elected as secretary for California Cattlemen’s Association of Yolo County and encouraged to apply to vet school one more time.I am thrilled to be steadily working toward my goal of becoming a large animal vet at Ross University.Follow me on Twitter @Cowboy2Vet also using #Cowboy2VetOr connect with me Cowboy2Vet@gmail.com
