I’m fortunate to work as the corporate communications manager for Jacobsen Construction Company, an acclaimed general contractor in the intermountain west. I am responsible for generating impactful news coverage of our projects, clients and people. I also develop long-term social media content strategy and publish company posts. Another one of my duties is preparing marketing collateral for our project teams and business development pros that they use to put our best foot forward with existing or prospective clients. My main responsibility for such collateral is the written content, but I also play an active and capable supporting role in organizing its look in InDesign. I recently co-led an extensive internal and external messaging campaign that was a key pillar of our company’s crisis communications response to COVID-19; this campaign won a national award of merit from SMPS, a respected communications and marketing trade association.Previously I worked as the public affairs manager for Association for Utah Community Health, which represents all of Utah’s community health centers. My work included establishing strong ties with federal and state lawmakers on issues important to health centers, including the need for federal funding. Before that, I covered crime and health care for Deseret News and KSL, winning 18 journalism awards over 4 years.My colleagues describe me as a fast learner with an outstanding, highly versatile writing skillset and a strong mind for strategic planning. They might also add that what gets me up in the morning is my intellectual curiosity and the chance to powerfully tell the story of the many ways the people around me are making the world a better place.
