I have been with the Jake's Fireworks family of companies for nearly 15 years now and a successful CIO for the last six years. Under my direction the company has consolidated and modernized its data center operations, streamlined its operational efficiency with a full-scale Sage ERP deployment, and maximized distribution accuracy through the development and deployment of a custom WMS solution. The application of these tools, along with obsessive maintenance of a rock-solid core infrastructure, have helped the company grow from a small family run business into the largest importer / distributor of consumer class fireworks in the United States. I have also led a project to migrate the company family of websites into the Magento Enterprise e-commerce platform and integrate that system with our back-office ERP, thereby creating a new channel to leverage for B2B sales. The addition of this sales channel generated an additional $4.6M in wholesale sales in the first year alone. All of this was accomplished with an IT run rate of less than 1% of net revenue.I also have extensive experience in the retail IT space, as the company owns and operates nearly 500 retail stores across the midwest and southern United States.
