Developing open-source CI (Continuous Integration) software for the OCaml language's ecosystem, involving systems programming to distribute dependency solving, compilation, and testing to many operating systems and architectures.Responsible for the CI of the Opam Repository, the central package universe for OCaml with tens of thousands of packages.Developed CI for testing the newly introduced OCaml 5 compiler, which exposed several bugs in the multicore runtime.

Research & development project to cross-compile the OCaml bytecode runtime to an ARM-based nRF52 microcontroller using a real-time operating system as a base layer.Heavily optimised the bytecode and runtime to work with severe memory constraints, working closely with colleagues with expertise in the internals of the language.

Developed and implemented a visual model of ageing vision in virtual reality with Unity, as part of the Graphics and Displays Research Group at the University of Cambridge.My project fed back into my supervisors research, which modelled ageing vision through contrast thresholding and a simulation of glare, both depending on age, luminance, and spatial frequency.In particular I developed a method of approximating convolution by large kernels with Gaussian and Laplacian pyramids, with most computation done on the GPU with shaders.Much effort was put into optimisation for the VR platform, raising the average fps from 50 to a consistent 300.

Worked in a team to implement a relational database in an existing system, using a schema I had been tasked to design independently. Text analytics of aggregated news data to find popular and trending topics.
