Ben is the founder of Claroworks Product Development, a design engineering firm focusing on delivering a cohesive engineering through manufacturing experience for its clients. Since founding ClaroWorks in 2006 he has lead infrastructure development and built an organizational culture resulting in the best possible source of mechanical engineering services available. With duties spanning design oversight, management and sales, Ben ensures customer receive innovative engineering, clear manufacturing road maps, and a strong return on their development experience.As ClaroWorks has grown it has developed a unique offering of innovative design engineering, rapid prototyping, and short run manufacturing and assembly. Its niche is engaging on projects where something has to be physically made, a prototype, a test fixture or even production parts (if suitable).In implementing this ClaroWorks Product Development focuses on two areas, simplifying designs to their bare essentials, the essence (this was the impetus for its name) and significant manufacturing capability in house. ClaroWorks engineers are trained on all equipment, and personally manufacture all early articles. Closing this loop between the designer and manufacture in such a small space, normally the engineers head, inherently integrates DMF (design for manufacture) in all our work.Maintaining this loop is painful sometimes, it’s rigorous, but it’s also huge fun. Engineers generally love making things, so when you let them loose on a project, and they build it, they are both happier and more creative. ClaroWorks has found this offering attractive to many different people. To some customers ClaroWorks may design and manufacture their whole product, shipping in retail ready packaging. For others, projects may be design engineering and a few prototypes. Some customers are other product development companies who maybe need subsystem designing and potentially a few prototypes.
