As the Manager, HSE Systems, I lead a team to provide competency, assurance, systems and reporting for the HSE function and coordinate HSE support for other functions and departments. This includes preparing and managing the departmental budget.

As the Team Lead, Systems and Reporting, I was responsible for HSE systems which included drafting the HSE policy, HSE standards applicable to contractors and many technical safety and environment procedures.

As the Senior Corporate Environment Advisor, I prepared and submitted Arrow’s National Greenhouse and Energy reports and coordinated the Carbon Working Group within Arrow to prepare for the introduction of the Clean Energy Act.

As the Team Leader, Compliance and Reporting, I was responsible for Arrow’s engagement with environmental regulators in relation to compliance under Arrow’s operating Environmental Authorities.

I was responsible for a team of specialist engineers and atmospheric scientists, managing air quality and greenhouse assessments for several major environmental impact assessments including the initial stages of the Surat upstream and the Arrow LNG project, a Santos power station, and major mining projects. Some highlights associated with this role include completing air quality and emissions investigations as an expert witness for problem sites under threat of prosecution; and negotiating effectively with regulators in relation to licence conditions, change-of-use applications and enforcement instruments.

I prepared and negotiated environmental approvals for large key industrial facilities including six power generators, two oil and gas onshore facilities, multiple offshore facilities and two LNG importation facilities under stringent UK and European regulation. This included providing environmental advice for large energy companies and preparing Environmental Impact Statement sections for major energy infrastructure projects.

I was responsible for preparing carbon and emission inventories for the Stanwell fleet of generators, analysing noise monitoring data and preparing reports for wind production sites as well as Wind Farm production data to estimate costs for improving noise regulation compliance.

Employed as an Environmental Engineer working mainly with air quality, noise and greenhouse issues.

As an air emissions specialist I helped develop the first National Pollutant Inventory reports for a number of Queensland Industries.
