Funding awesome Gigster clients so they may achieve success and change the world.Gigster has a fantastic pipeline of investment opportunities, providing not only deal-flow but unique early-access to the startups and founders leveraging the world-leading engineering talent on the Gigster marketplace.I leverage my varied background of software engineering, product, marketing and entrepreneurship to identify the most promising investment opportunities from the pipeline and engage with startups we'd like to consider for the fund.We are open to investments in any vertical and so I spend time researching the trends across numerous spaces including on-demand, marketplaces, fintech, social, SaaS and more.

I founded Uber's Public Policy innovation team that designed, built and deployed strategically vital technology products to drive Social Good and Social Change.I recruited and led a team of engineers, designers, data science and operations folks that built custom tools to support citizen engagement across legislative matters.My team and I also created social good features and projects, including the massively acclaimed 'Beethoven' project. One of the most proudest launches of my career, Beethoven delivered Uber Driver tools to empower a highly under-employed section of our community to work on the platform and provide for their family (see video links below).The work of my team and I ensured Uber was able to enter the multi-$billion Nevada market and kept Uber in key markets across the world such as New York, California and parts of LatAm.

I help companies achieve awesome things with their APIs and platforms.If they don't have one, I help them strategically decide if they need one and what kinds of goals and benefits they should measure for success. Business cases, metrics, key performance indicators, return on investment measurement, etc.If they need to build out a platform, I help their business folk work out how it all fits into the internal business strategy and the external ecosystem.Once those platforms are built, you'll find me making sure they have a successful launch, identify business development opportunities and curate a strong community of engineers, developers and partners.I provide clients with full-service, soup-to-nuts, developer platform expertise to large companies through to innovative startups. I can work from start-to-finish or slot in where necessary.

I advised MySpace around the strategy, development, and implementation of it's OpenSocial platform, Data Availability and 'OpenStack' technologies (OpenID, OAuth, Portable Contacts, etc). I also helped with the developer community out reach, particularly in San Francisco

I spent 8 months working with Orange France Telecom on a start-up style web-project they have been working on. My role focused on establishing a developer program for the project but later also encompassed product development and user experience.At the time of writing the project has not been launched.

I helped create, launch and then run the BBC's developer network 'backstage.bbc.co.uk' aka BBC Backstage. I believe this was the first original content-orientated developer network to launch as well as the first developer network from a media organization.Backstage.bbc.co.uk has been tremendously successful, winning numerous awards for it's pioneering approach to open data and for encouraging grassroots innovation in the UK and beyond.

I was part of the technical team that took the early days of the BBC News Website into the leading international news website it is today.I started as a front end developer, but moved into backend development on the CMS and product development.Sites I worked on included BBC News, BBC Sport, BBC Russian, BBC Spanish, Olympics and the BBC's early online video service.Technologies I used include compliant xHTML, CSS, Javascript, Objective C, Web Objects.
