In response to the 2022 shortage of baby formula in the United States, developed and launched a platform for matching and exchange. Responsible for the site’s technology and infrastructure, including design, functionality, security and scalability.

Provides guidance, support and mentorship to the startups participating in the Techstars accelerator program in Boston. Responsibilities include helping startups refine their business strategies, identify key challenges and opportunities, develop action plans, sharing relevant industry expertise, connecting founders to valuable resources, providing one-on-one coaching and mentorship, and providing an outside perspective.

Worked with the Finch executive team and investors to position the company's product and technology for acquisition.

As the founding CTO of Outcomes4Me, Ben played a key role in the development and launch of the company, as well as contributing to its ongoing operation and management. Some specific responsibilities included: - Developing the company's technology and infrastructure. This included designing the company's architecture, implementing features and functionality, and ensuring the platform was scalable and secure. - Leading the technology team. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing a team of technology professionals to help develop and maintain the company's products and services. - Developing and implementing the company's technology strategy. Determined the direction and focus of the company's technology efforts, and was responsible for implementing that strategy. - Collaborating with other departments. Worked closely with other departments within the company, such as clinical operations, marketing, and product development, to ensure that the company's technology efforts were aligned with its overall business goals.

Led product development and engineering for an enterprise collaboration tool with the goal of transforming the decision-making functions of large organizations from slow, rigid and centralized to quick, nimble and distributed.

Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining core infrastructure, functionality and performance of the InsightSquared business intelligence analytics product. Served as the engineering lead and product liaison for the platform team.

Responsible for creating the company’s core consumer-facing product, a web-based educational tool and textbook reader. Led architecture and development, coordinated with product and marketing, and mentored junior team members.

Responsible for implementing front-end and back-end development of various feature and maintenance projects across the cloud-hosted architecture of a large-scale online data backup service.

TFDA is a non-profit organization based in Durham, NC that serves the ultimate frisbee needs of the Triangle. I served as the Vice President and focused my energies on membership, fundraising, and TFDA's long-term capital project, the Ultiplex. During my tenure we created the TFDA membership program and the annual TFDA spring carnival. Contributions rose considerably over past years despite the onset of the recession. In September of 2011, the Ultiplex successfully achieved the rezoning it needed to go forward and is now continuing to chug along its path.

Led product development and engineering for a white-label SaaS online auction platform. Responsible for design, architecture, development and deployment.

The responsibilities of the Durham Planning Commission are to propose, review and make recommendations on City or County wide plans; to review and make recommendations on Planning policies, Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Zoning Map Changes, proposed changes to development ordinances and Planning Department work program. The Commission is comprised of 14 members appointed by the City Council or Board of County Commissioners.

Led product development and engineering of an enterprise database solution for medical schools. Responsible for design, architecture, development, deployment, sales and marketing.
