I cover the city of Mount Pleasant, Union Charter Twp. and Isabella County. I work primarily with government, but my beat includes law enforcement, development and the Isabella County Trial Court.

I run the newsroom and staff of Central Michigan Life, the award-winning student newspaper of Central Michigan University.

Led the newsroom team of The Washtenaw Voice, arguably the best campus newspaper in Michigan. Helped guide the conceptual direction of all content published, built pages with designers, assigned copy deadlines and organized all workflow between photographers, writers and editors.

Assisted in managing the daily operations of the newsroom, including but not limited to assigning and tracking stories pursued by the reporting staff, enforcing deadlines, planning page design, editing copy and proofing pages. I also contributed 6-10 stories to each publication.

Served as intern on the editorial staff of The Metro Times. My duties included helping with the daily operations of the paper, transcribing notes, writing blurbs for the Night & Day events calendar, and fact checking information in stories and listings. During this time, I also wrote two articles and both were published, including one on student-run, college radio stations and their fight for relevance.

Reported and wrote myriad news, features, critical reviews and columns for Michigan's most decorated college newspaper. All articles were published in the newspaper and on its website, washtenawvoice.com.

Contributed articles periodically. Most of the articles contributed were also class assignments.
