Starting with Wiley in 2002 as a trainee site manager, Ben completed a carpentry apprenticeship (cert III in general construction), whilst completing a bachelor of applied science (construction management). Throughout his study years he gained the hands on carpentry skills whilst working on numerous luxury homes, as well as learning the ropes of managing a construction site. After graduating from construction management (first class honours), Ben moved into a site management role managing a wide range of projects. Within a full service design and construct company, further experience with site management comes a certain level of design management. And completing the communication link between real on-site issues and scenarios with the design office is essential to a smooth running project and ensuring the project remains on time and on budget. With brownfield projects, problem solving is an essential skill for a smooth delivery. From Site management, Ben increased his skill-set by taking on Contract Administration tasks whilst Site Managing. Through further contract administration, procurement management and project management experience, Ben is now a successful project manager delivering highly complex projects.Projects Ben has delivered for Wiley include luxury houses, primary school education buildings, abattoirs, smallgoods plants, other food and beverage plants, warehouses, substations, taverns/pubs, cattle saleyards, truckwash facilities, retail outlets, process installations, feasibility studies, design consultancy work and much more.
