The board of IPCA diligently oversees the organisation's governance, while my personal involvement extends to various communities such as contracts and technology.

Subway Franchises

My wife and I have successfully established and managed six Subway franchises in Northern NSW. In addition, I have actively contributed to the Subway community by serving as a mentor and coach to new and struggling franchisees. During the COVID period, I was instrumental in revitalising one of our stores, achieving a remarkable growth of almost 300% through strategic restructuring and comprehensive training programs.

South Kempsey

We are currently engaged in the development of the Mid North Coast Industrial Hub, a prominent industrial subdivision consisting of 100 lots. Strategically located on the South Kempsey section of the Pacific Highway, this project aims to create a thriving hub for industrial activities and businesses.

We were a startup company offering cutting-edge 3D and VR tours for real estate sales and rentals, operating in both the Mid North Coast NSW and Sydney regions. Our innovative platform enabled real estate agents to showcase their properties to potential clients in an immersive and interactive manner, all from the comfort of their homes. This unique tool revolutionises the way properties are presented, enhancing the client experience and streamlining the sales process.

As Chairman, I held the vital role of guiding the Board, steering its focus towards strategic initiatives, and ensuring the successful achievement of the Group's objectives. I diligently upheld strict governance standards and played a pivotal part in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of both the collective Board and individual Directors. Moreover, I took the lead in negotiating with the Franchisor in both Australia and the USA, securing advantageous outcomes for our valued Franchisees. Additionally, I actively coached fellow Franchisees and contributed to the creation of programs aimed at enhancing profitability and compliance.

As a Board member, I held a significant role in managing the advertising for Subway NNSW. This includes ensuring compliance with the allocated budget and overseeing the production of advertising assets for all stores in the NNSW region throughout the year.

I was actively involved in the day-to-day operations of Farrawell Aluminium, a prominent manufacturer of aluminium building products located on the Mid North Coast. As a family-owned and operated business, we had outlets in Kempsey, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour. My responsibilities encompass various aspects including payroll and HR management for a team of over 50 employees, administration of contracts valued at $2M, overseeing office and production staff, on-site management of contractors, as well as supplier negotiations and ensuring compliance.

I served on a council advisory board dedicated to driving economic development in the Macleay Region. Our primary role involved providing advice to Kempsey Shire Council on their economic development strategy and direction. We aimed to enhance the shire's ability to attract and support new and emerging industries that were interested in establishing themselves in our town. Additionally, we worked towards fostering and encouraging growth within the existing industries in the region.

As a director, my role in the organisation encompassed maintaining strong corporate governance practices. This involved ensuring compliance with ASIC regulations as well as meeting the grant requirements set by the NSW and Federal Government. The organization had secured grants specifically aimed at offering essential services, mentoring, and coaching to new startups and existing struggling businesses. With our office located in Kempsey, we were able to actively support and empower emerging businesses in the Macleay Valley.

I played a crucial role in the construction and establishment of the Powder Coating plant located in Kempsey. Our state-of-the-art facility operated as an automated extrusion powder coating plant. It involved implementing a chemical pre-treatment process that required meticulous monitoring for safety and efficiency purposes. As part of my responsibilities, I consistently ensured that the company complied with all relevant government regulations and standards to maintain a high level of compliance.

AUSNET initially emerged as a provider of One Way Satellite Internet services, catering to the needs of regional NSW where access to broadband internet seemed like a distant reality. Our primary focus was on installing and maintaining satellite systems for both businesses and the general public. In addition, we operated a training facility specifically designed to assist new computer users, with a special emphasis on training programs tailored for senior citizens. As regional areas gradually gained access to ADSL broadband, we transitioned our services to offer plans and packages to those customers wherever feasible.

After completing my education, I embarked on a journey with the Royal Australian Air Force, where I held diverse roles in Administration, Surface Finishing, Cleaning, VIP Driving, and eventually concluded my service as an Avionics Technician at RAAF Amberley. Throughout my tenure, I specialised in working with Radar, Radio, and Armament systems on the F111 Jet Bomber. The RAAF instilled in me valuable qualities such as loyalty, discipline, critical thinking, and a strong work ethic. I have successfully carried forward these attributes into my business endeavors, drawing upon the lessons and experiences gained during my time in the RAAF.
