Bennett Thomas is Co-Founder and General Partner of Triple Impact Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm that believes the next generation of unicorn tech companies will be started by mission-driven founders in the areas of Climate, Health, AI, and Society. The firm's principals have invested in a combined 150 startup companies from the seed stage and met 20 years ago investing together at Cornell's Big Red Ventures fund. They have a track record of picking unicorn category winners, and bring together a unique combination of expertise in founding startups, venture investing, finance, and impact. Previously, Bennett was on the forefront of the shift to climate sustainability as an investor and senior finance leader at Hersha Hospitality Trust, a publicly traded hospitality investment firm (acquired). His finance responsibilities included $4 billion of capital raising, portfolio management, and the development of EarthView, a leading sustainability platform ranked #1 in the real estate investment trust (REIT) sector and recognized alongside Nike and Apple. He was also selected to serve on the Executive Sustainability Committee at NAREIT, an organization representing REITs with equity market capitalizations of more than $1.3 trillion. Prior to Hersha, his previous roles included M&A at Medco (acquired), a $30 billion healthcare firm, technology consulting at Ernst & Young and environmental engineering. He earned his B.S. in Civil-Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Cornell where he was a Park Leadership Fellow.
