- Led 6-month cross-functional project to create a sandbox environment across 10 microservices with a team of 2-5 developers. Worked closely with DevOps, Product, UX, and Marketing teams to refine requirements. Delivered on time and satisfied all stakeholders.- Reduced logging storage costs by 95% by migrating from Cloudwatch Logs to a Fluentd + S3 solution, which also supports live streaming to help with troubleshooting.- Led a team of 4 non-Angular experts to build and deliver modern customer-facing UI, working closely with Product and UX to negotiate requirements and ensure we delivered on time in 1 month.- Migrated core data extraction service from AWS SWF to ECS. Still in use in all production microservices after 7 years.- Mentored junior developers in-person and remote by training them on Spring Boot, design patterns, and deployments with Ansible, Jenkins and k8s.

- Prototyped Cassandra and Spark solution in Scala that provided near-real time (sub-minute) responses for 1.2 TB of data during 4 months of research. Provisioned multiple clusters running Cassandra and Spark with bash scripts and Ansible.- Created a generic API simulator for integration testing that was configurable via a REST interface.- Mentored junior team members in best practices for database migrations and RESTful vs RPC API design.

- Delivered a video streaming and catalog management application supporting 180,000 concurrent users. Withstood the load for each episode of Game of Thrones Season 5 in the Nordic region.- Designed and built a tool to conform the video catalog to the Xbox Bing XSD using XJC (schema to Java code generator). Implemented using the Abstract Factory pattern and heavily unit-tested.- Refactored account creation workflow to support new APIs with unit and integration tests. Unified multiple code paths used by account creation and login user flows.- Trained and mentored two new team members so that they were active contributors within a week.
