- Implement proactive HSSE initiatives and themed campaigns to influence personnel towards the development, growth and sustenance of positive Safety Culture.- Responsible for providing advice and guidance in the area of occupational Health, Safety, Security and Environmental matters.- Plan the implementation of the hazard identification and risk management through the use of JSAs, Site Safety Standards, Observation Cards, and other risk management tools introduced by the company/contractor.- Leads /participate in the incident investigations and determination of corrective and preventive actions.- Monitors and reports on the closeout of actions which are the results of audits, site visits, incident investigations, 111 observations and IOGP 577 assessemnt- Facilitates HAZID workshops and provides recommendations on measure to control hazards and mitigate risk for construction, integration and pre-commissioning work.- Reviewed and approved of all project HSE document deliverables including but not limited to; HSE Plan; Emergency Response Plan; project incident investigation protocol; permit to work management procedure; and HSSE Incentive plan- Participated and facilitate safety related programs, meetings and training.

Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work, etc. OSHA Act 1994 (Malaysia) and other legislation relevant to the Companies business.Responsible for ensuring that safety and environment policies & plan are implemented and followed.Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Director responsible for Health and Safety any relevant new legislation.To assist the employer, contractor or the Site Safety and Health Committee, if any pursuant to Regulation of Occupational Safety and Health Regulations.Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation.Ensure that all “assessments” as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.Immediately contact the project director responsible for health and safety if situations are found, that in the opinion of the Safety Manager, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any work activity.To notify the Project director responsible for health and safety if the corrective action agreed after any workplace inspection is not implemented by the arranged date.To highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance.Assist to carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.
