Tech : Production cum Plant Engineering, University of Calicutt.Work Experience: Worked as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax dealing with Direct Tax matters under the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Govt. of India prior to retirement from service.  Core competencies include managing search and seizure operations under the income tax act; Assessment in search related cases, analysis of financial statements, and enforcement of tax collection. Career in the Indian Revenue Service for 34 years provided opportunities in creating and developing infrastructural facilities, managing change and providing leadership while adapting to new technologies and shifting focus to tax payer services. Performed quasi-judicial functions of Appellate and jurisdictional Commissioners exercising adjudicating function as envisaged in the Direct tax laws: Had the responsibility of supervising the representation by the counsels and filing affidavits on behalf of the department before the constitutional courts. Other judicial work encompasses launching prosecution, compounding offences and handling penalties. Professional training courses: On joining the department, attended two year training programme, familiarizing with Taxation law, accountancy, computer skills and management subjects. Attended midcareer training of three weeks at IIM, Bangalore and two weeks at University of Syracuse, USA in leadership and management in public governance. One-year integrated course organized by the Ministry of defense for the senior defense personnel, various civil service officers and foreign defense delegates on Defense and Strategic studies was attended. Course work of submission of a thesis on internal security threats originating out of unchecked foreign remittance resulted in the award of M. Phil degree by University of Madras. Personal details: Born on 30.07.1963. After schooling in Sainik School Kazhakkootam, joined Govt. Engineering College, Trichur, Kerala for graduation in production engineering and IIT, Delhi for Post Graduation in Behavioral and Social sciences. Past time includes listening to music and watching sports.
