But in most cases, what practically prevents an organization from being a leader in its field is the kind of problems called: complex problems. Usually, they start as “simple faults”: delays in supply, a bad product batch or a high rate of employee turnover. In case they weren't handled properly, they develop gradually and create disruptive patterns. These patterns, fix and settle in the organization’s operating system, impair performance and expand the gap between the requirements from the organization and its ability to satisfy them. Disruptive patterns and complex problems persist, branch out and grow, as time goes by. External pressures intensify their severity and impact the organization's robustness and relevance.
