Served an 11-month combat tour in Afghanistan as Deputy Commander and Agriculture Team Chief for a rotational team of military experts in Agribusiness Development.Led team of 12 agricultural specialists in four central Afghanistan provinces covering an area over 10,000 square miles.Conducted daily meetings with Afghanistan Provincial and District Agriculture officials to help rebuild Afghanistan’s agribusiness economy through nested lines of effort with United States Governments Strategy Guidance.Led team development efforts with USDA, Non Governmental Organizations, Civil Military Operations, Other Governmental Organizations, and Foreign Military units in order to provide assistance, training and guidance to the Government Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) officials.Approved and supervised project management of 1.5 million dollars in agricultural related projects throughout central Afghanistan and participated in over 50 ground convoy missions as well as rotary and fixed wing missions throughout our area of operations.Awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Badge, and NATO Medal.
