Pueblo viejo is a double Refractory gold/silver/copper ore, 24,000 tpd. Crushing, SABC, autoclave, CIL, neutralization, CuS precipitation, CN detox. using SO2/air. Coming at the feasibility stage, I was fortunate to be there from cradle to production. I managed or participated in all aspects of testwork, design, procurement, construction assistance, operations readiness and the creation and implementation of all programs for safety, recruitment, training, operations, people, environment and maintenance. The mine was succesfully commisioned in 2012. In 2013, I was assigned to the position of Autoclave Improvements Manager, where I implemented several modifications of the autoclave circuit to get to design throughput.

I was the Process Plant and Environmental Superintendent for 6 years, taking care of production, environmental programs and health and hygiene programs for the 2200 tpd plant, composed of crushing, grinding, autoclaves, neutralization, flotation, gravity CIL, refinery and tailings. As the client's representative, I assisted the EPCM in the design and construction of the paste plant, then continued with the commissioning and startup and also implemented several other optimization projects in the CIL circuit. The last two years, I worked as the business process manager, doing the implementation of the global SAP for Placer Dome.

I was the interim Process Plant Superintendent at Detour, taking care of the last production months and led the commissioning and startup of the CIL tails desulfurisation project using flotation and cycloning to remove suphides and make an inert cap on the tailings.

I was the Process Plant Manager, taking care of the operation and maintenance of two process plants: the Sigma Mine (2,200 tpd) and Kiena Mine (1,600 tpd) utilizing conventional crushing, grinding, CIL refinery and SO2/air CN detox.I came during the construction of the expansion project, converting the old process plant into a modern CIL plant, led the commissioning and startup of the plant.

I was the Operations General Supervisor for the Louvicourt process plant, a 4,000 tpd Copper/Gold/Silver/Zinc base metal mine, utilizing SAB grinding, Cu/Zn flotation, Larox filtration, concentrate handling and the first paste fill plant in North America.I came during the construction phase and led the pre-operations readiness, commisioning and startup activities all the way to stable production.

I worked as a production metallurgist, following production, working with operators and other metallurgists to optimize this complex flotation plant. Later as a project metallurgist, I led the testing then the construction of the flotation columns for the zinc cleaning and then the EPCM of the conveyors modifications to get open pit ore into the undergound grinding circuit.

First job out of master degree. This was a new mine, using grinding and flotation to produce a gold rich pyrite concentrate. Very hands-on as the staff was minimal.I joined when constructionwas almost finished and participated in commisioning and startup.
