About Benoit Boulet

Research & Development, Innovation, Technological Entrepreneurship, Technology Transfer, Environmental Sustainability, Sustainable Engineered Systems, Engineering Education and Training. Statement: The transition to a sustainable economy relying on renewable energies and energy efficiency to protect the environment is to me the most important item on our agenda. It should drive a large part of the research done in engineering. Over the last 200 years, engineers have built the modern technological world that we live in using massive amounts of fossil fuel which took Nature billions of years to produce. As a result, our developed societies have enjoyed unprecedented growth and increase in life expectancy and quality of life. An unfortunate consequence of this fossil-fueled growth is that we now face one of the greatest threats in our history: global warming and pollution. We know all too well the consequences of our addiction to fossil fuels: serious health issues (millions of deaths per year), wars, water shortage, rising sea levels, floods, powerful storms, desertification, environmental refugees, food shortage, loss of biodiversity, excessive consumerism, etc. Engineers have built the modern technological world, and we now all share the great responsibility towards our children and future generations to fix it. We will achieve this by relentlessly creating innovative green technologies and adopting existing ones in order to transition our societies to ones that use renewable energy and become sustainable. As soon as we can. Research: Ok, enough with the moral statement, engineering is fun. My team does research on advanced feedback control system design to drive innovation in biomedical, energy, environmental and vehicle control applications. Our main efforts are focused on electric vehicles and biomedical systems, notably the artificial pancreas.

Listed skills include Simulations, Simulink, Engineering, Matlab, and 15 others.
