Developed characterization techniques to follow in real time the nucleation and growth of nano-materials for optoelectronic devices. Designed and constructed sophisticated experimental apparatus to study metal oxide deposition. Collaborated with Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource and Brookhaven National Laboratory to design the apparatus and carry out the experiments and with Industrial Research Limited, Wellington, New Zealand to model the growth. Transferred the technology to multidisciplinary teams to study redox behavior of fuel cells, strains in nanoporous metals, toxicity of nanoparticles and the enzyme/gold interactions to detect cancerous cells.
