I'm responsible for continuous improvement of the performance of our polystyrene plant in Feluy, with on call duty and superintendent backup role. A more down-to-earth approach which suits me well after more theoretical roles.

As Data Transfer Responsible, I'm accountable for all the MFT flows we have. It includes the Run part (ensuring all the flows are processed and issues are solved in a timely manner) and Projects part (proposing evolution, making sure the infrastructure remains usable and as up-to-date as possible, implementing new business requests, ...).Most of the work is done by driving an outsourced prestation and coordinating ressources, bringing a big organisational side to the job. In this assignment, all the so-called "soft skills" are put forth.

As Budget responsible, I was in charge of developing and maintain a new internal billing method, based on numerous technical parameters, based on an ABC approach.I was also accountable for the inventories, the budget followup and contact with cost control teams.This assignment taught me a lot about management, budget and I brought a lot of optimization skills to provide accurate yet manageable models.

As a Process Engineer, as was the second level support, after the field engineers, for our polymer production plants. I was in charge of all the needs for modelling and simulation of the processes (using various softwares: Aspen Suite, HTRI, ANSYS Fluent, ...) and Advanced Process Control (sometimes using dedicated softwares or even developing our owns).I provided simulations for brand new processes and for process optimization or troubleshooting. I developed soft sensors to predict final product physical properties. I was faced with a lot of challenges to cope with all the operational issue and/or improvements we can face in a production plant.This assignment requested a lot of versatility, on the spot adaptability and innovative solution finding. It was a great intellectual challenge.

As an Operational Unix Systems Engineer, I was responsible with the rest of the team for all our applications availability. It included monitoring, reaction on alert, day to day operations on our infrastructure (Oracle, SAP, ...), coordination for big operations and maintenance operations.This assignment included a lot of stress resistance, team spirit and down-to-earth thinking.

As a Project Engineer, I was responsible for translating the Business constraints into IT specifications. I had to understand all the constraints, decide which ones were relevant to implement in an IT system, which ones should be omitted and which ones needed to be addressed by human action.This assignment bore a lot of Change Management aspects and management of external ressources for IT implementation.
