About Benoit Othoniel

My main ambition is to promote the use of sound scientific knowledge in decision-making processes. To this end, I have developed my skills around the development of models, which I first see as efficient tools for communicating and collaborating among stakeholders. Therefore, I constantly try to improve my abilities to simulate socio-ecological systems and to evaluate and communicate the credibility of modeling results.Interested in the question of sustainability in a large sense, I wish to work on projects that aim to advance scientific knowlegde for the purpose of helping concrete problems. I like to investigate a given issue at multiple scales, from the point of view of local individuals to the influence of global structures, and considering different perspectives (ecological, economic or cultural). As I have worked and lived in several regions of the world, I am willing to work anywhere as long as I might be useful.
