I joined my current position as chief hydrocarbons for the environmental response program in Transport Canada in 2017. Over my years at Marine safety and security, I have worked on regulations for the oil handling facilities and Response organizations. I have developed standards and regulations. I am the lead for the national review board, which is responsible for the certification of the Transport Canada response organizations. The NRB reviews the plans submitted by the Response Organizations and does a lengthy review, including calculations and site visit of their warehouse. I have created different national working groups to develop tools that will be used by the different regions. One of our philosophy is to create national consistency to continuously improve our program. I have been participating in different national and international workshops over the last few years, which gave me different skills and opportunities to build a solid network.I am managing a team of 4 employees and I develop financial planning yearly for my team. I am in charge of different national staffing processes that we have lead in 2017 and 2022. Before joining marine safety, I have worked the Canadian Transport emergency Center (CANUTEC) for 3 years . I worked as a chemist providing guidance to first responders when dealing with dangerous goods emergencies. I was in charge of a team of 12 employees, and I gained a lot of experience in HR and managing employees.
