I was tasked with finding innovative approaches to recycle post-consumer flexible plastic packages (PE/PP). My responsibilities included project management with stakeholders, participation in calls for tenders, advancement of recycling methods for flexible plastic films, and the creation of a comprehensive database. 🔄As a project lead, I oversaw my own projects, managing relationships with stakeholders and ensuring the timely and cost-effective execution of projects. I also participated in a tender process for the distribution of FD20 streams, which proved to be a valuable experience, reinforcing my acquired knowledge. 🤝Currently, flexible plastic films are not recycled to their fullest extent. To achieve a 100% recyclability rate, studies are required to enhance their recyclability, covering flow composition, mechanical or "chemical" recycling technologies, and specifications. I conducted flow studies by characterizing resins in the field, analyzing data to improve recycling channels by comparing results with recyclers' specifications. 🌱Another objective was the creation of databases, one for detecting the composition of flexible plastic films and another for identifying the composition of trays. I successfully developed a database capable of identifying the composition (up to 3 resins) of films, trays, and other plastic packaging, facilitating the probe's use with FTIR technology. 💻In conclusion, my internship allowed me to develop project management skills, interpersonal abilities (stakeholder relations, team presentation, canvassing), and technical knowledge (database management, recycling technology). 🚀

I had the opportunity to work in the research during this internship. Having my own research topic: crystallization of amorphous calcium carbonate and amorphous tricalcium phosphate. Being an outsider of this area of research, I had to work hard to obtain a correct knowledge in order to lead correctly this project. I was in charge of the synthesis of the two powders (tri calcium phosphate (ATCP) and calcium carbonate (ACC)). The synthesis were done weekly to conduct experiments. For the experiments, I had the opportunity to choose the way to take. The initial objective was to use the energy release by the ACC while passing in crystalline phase. This energy will be directly used in the system to increase the temperature of the ATCP faster. This objective was not possible because the energy release was too small. After it, it have been decided to find a greener process to produce apatite by the help of hydrothermal sintering process. It gives an excellent output and allows to create the apatite either with amorphous or crystalline powders. Which reduce considerably the number of sinthesis needed because the Calcium Carbonate can remain amorphous only one day. The output of the internship were really good and I was asked to write a scientific report. A poster using my results have also being made by my internship superior for a conference.
