• Planned and executed bench-scale jar tests for chemically enhanced primary treatment as part of a carbon diversion study.

• Constructed and tested a 100-L pilot-scale phosphorus extraction and recovery system (PEARS) to recover nutrients from agricultural and municipal waste
• Sized, ordered, and installed pumps, solenoids, and sensors for the PEARS reactor along with developed a MATLAB-based SCADA system to automate PEARS
• Optimized methods for phosphorus extraction and precipitation conditions of poultry litter to selectively produce struvite over hydroxyapatite
• Developed analytical knowledge through using UV-visible spectrophotometry; Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy; potentiometric titrations; ion chromatography; flame atomic absorption.
• Showcased a NERDs nutrient recovery system adapted for a portable restroom to an estimated 1000+ people at the 2018 USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington, DC.
