The discoveries made by people and what science they bring to the table are an important basis to advance our understanding of the human being, and it contributes to ameliorate health services and technologies provided by the healthcare system. As a scientist, I am always captivated by the extent discoveries can improve diagnostics, treatments, quality of life, and life expectancy for people. As a team member, I have gained experience working with consistent and dynamic resourceful professionals turning projects into successful accomplishments in neuroendocrinology. Having a background in molecular biology, I have a passion for working with people in brain disorders projects who share mutual interests in studying mental disease progression as well as contributing to personalized medicine. I do have a particular interest in developing novel natural health products, collaborating with experts, as well as improving the human reproductive health conditions.I can do more than this. I can teach and develop projects to promote the best science practices and use INTELLIGENCE for products innovation. AWARENESS is vital in cross-disciplines. INSPIRATION is what brings people to work together. If you are interested in discussing science or business topics, please feel free to contact me.

Postdoctoral Assistant - Neurobiology Of Alzheimer'S DiseaseNational Research Council Canada Mar 2010 - Apr 2012Ottawa, Canada AreaSince therapeutic compounds are on the way to treat Alzheimer’s disease, there is an increasing unmet biomedical research for developing new molecular agents to detect the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease using transgenic mice models and examine molecular changes in brain plaque build-up. I previously used my expertise in molecular biology while quickly learning pharmacology techniques.Within the cerebrovascular group I managed a $380K research grant from the American Alzheimer’s Association International Program. I conducted a 2-year preclinical research study using a patent chimeric single-domain antibody protein specifically targeting amyloid-beta plaques. These are my main contributions:• Examined in vitro binding properties of conjugated nanobodies prior to IV injection and deployed MX2 systems coupled with pharmacokinetics assays to identify drug ADME upon mice anesthetic inhalation. • Identified the presence of peptides in the brain’s blood path at severely low retention rates, resulting in a lack of molecules crossing the blood brain barrier.• Reviewed and lent industry expertise towards a $240K grant application from the Alzheimer’s Association and contributed to the analysis and evaluation of fellowship applications and project amendments. -
Postdoctoral Associate - Reproductive Neuroendocrinology, Department Of Animal SciencesUniversity Of Minnesota Aug 2006 - Feb 2009Saint Paul, MinnesotaImproving animal production via practices and knowledge add value to agricultural economy. To fulfill this mission I investigated the photoperiodic modulation of the clocks, monoamines and photoreceptors in neuroendocrine circuits regulating the reproductive capabilities of domesticated turkeys. As a molecular biologist, I developed skills in troubleshooting and optimizing various bench procedures within project deadlines and goals. I have expertise in RNA extraction & purification, gene amplification & cDNA sequencing, molecular cloning, in vitro transcription, in situ hybridization & immunocytochemistry. ⇨ To successfully manage a 3-year $400K grant provisioned by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture by com, I made notable accomplishments:• Assessed clock gene expression in phenotypic neurons following circadian rhythm and night interruption studies to understand gene expression patterns in the brain.• Modulated ovarian follicles sizes across the reproductive cycle by changing various photoperiodic treatments. • Identified the presence of desensitization in multiple neurons through the study of melanopsin and dopamine expression within the PMM neurons to track down the mechanisms of hormones expression in the pituitary gland regulating turkey's fertility.
