About Ben Dobson
As Team Leader in CPI's materials science team I work to support UK industry leading a range of commercial and collaborative projects working across a range of technology areas from sustainable packaging to additive manufacturing and development of novel materials, alongside managing and developing the materials science team. My expertise is in thermoplastic processing, composite production and formulation with nanomaterials to optimise material properties, with a focus n sustainability including biodegradable polymers and end of life recycling of composites.My academic research focused on the synthesis, characterisation and functionalisation of graphene and its derivatives, with the aim of dispersing these materials to form functional fluids with improved thermal and tribological properties.
