Currently a senior at the University of Minnesota, studying African American Studies, Youth Studies and Sociology. Interested in developing my experience and knowledge in legal advocacy, youth work and public policy. I am currently serving and a barista at Italian Eatery in Minneapolis. This past summer I was apart of the Community Engagement team at BUILD Chicago, helping plan events in the Austin and Humboldt Park neighborhoods of Chicago, as well as providing resources and services to community members in need. The summers before, I have worked as a counselor at BUILD Chicago, an organization devoted to providing assistance to at risk youth in the inner city of Chicago as well as a Servant Leader Intern at the Freedom Schools, helping promote and teach literacyThe past eighteen months when in Chicago I have volunteered weekly at the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
