Our team automates ClickFox's software deployment using Jenkins, custom Bash/Python scripts, and RPMs. We are responsible for creating, configuring and maintaining Virtual and Physical servers using Vagrant, Mercurial, and Salt. We manage 200+ Centos, FreeBSD, Greenplum, Hadoop and Postgres servers. We are migrating developer and QA environments from VM deployments to Docker containers. I program Bash and Python automation scripts for daily repetitive tasks in Unix. I research and implement software components for our Hadoop frameworks. We introduce fun and efficient software to ClickFox, such as ChatOps (Slack & HuBot) to make for a better work environment. We are the culture change known as DevOps.

I expanded and reinforced many skills early on in my career. I was hired on as a Tier 1 Support Technician in a group of three, but quickly aided in the transformation to an Application Engineering team responsible for support, root cause analysis and deployment of software.Over the 2+ years working at ClickFox, I have developed and maintained two separate and quite unique applications, and am currently developing a third. The first being a system architecture information repository for all servers, service processes and databases. The beta prototype application was initially scripted in Bash Shell Script with no front-end web based GUI but the company was in need for a more permanent solution. I then created a backend solution in Python and PSQL with a GUI coded in JQuery. The application, Intel Center, is used hundreds of times throughout the company daily and has revolutionized the support of our product.The second application, Hourglass, was a contracted project upper management had offered me after seeing Intel Center. This web based application is used to track the amount of time co-workers spend on individual clients, projects and specific details within the projects. Summary reports are created using the application for executives to determine the cost, revenue and profit on a per client basis. On a strict six week deadline, I developed the backend using PSQL with a NodeJS/Express/Forever API server to interact with my partners front-end GUI.I have started my newest project with benchmarking and server health in mind. I am creating an application which determines processing times of service calls on all servers and environments. Through these projects and my normal duties, I have found a passion for development, deployment and support of applications.
