I have 15 years’ experience at a senior level within banking, including deal structuring and origination, distressed debt, run-down and exit. In 2018 I was recruited to lead and build out Barclays' Private Bank Commercial Real Estate Finance proposition - serving both domestic and international clients in our home markets and across the globe. I was subsequently appointed to Head of UK Debt Structuring, Barclays Private Bank in 2019.My earlier career gave me tremendous grounding in transaction negotiation and management, and this experience informs my attention to detail, analytical approach and deal execution skills. I value professional integrity highly; I lead by example and set a respectful, courteous tone with colleagues and external stakeholders be it regulators, other lenders or advisors. Clients have been at the centre of my focus throughout my career. Intellectual challenge motivates me - problem solving gives me huge satisfaction and I thrive on opportunities to have a real impact on the business. My asset class knowledge is very diverse, ranging from Real Estate (hotels, shopping centres, care homes and other commercial property, as well as residential - especially prime central London), to Financial Investments and Private Assets. I’ve worked with clients including global family offices, FTSE 100 companies, international pension funds, property companies, offshore entities and many ultra high net worth individuals. Prior to my current position, and for a large part of my career, transactions I have worked on have been complex - and involve multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders, as well as being credit risk distressed and / or litigious. Turning situations around and delivering the best outcome is one of the most rewarding aspects in recent roles.Leading from the front, I believe that loyalty and respect work both ways. I am committed to developing future potential in the team and ensuring that proper credit is awarded. All of my direct reports throughout my senior career have been internally promoted - a reflection of the talent I have been fortunate to work with as well as the environment I have sought to create.
