I spent my time at GlobeNewswire proofreading and editing copy, and preparing images for press releases submitted by national and international companies. I scheduled these for distribution through circuits both local and worldwide on various platforms, and handled associated regulatory filings. All of this involved close contact with other editors and representatives from the companies and legal firms submitting releases via phone and e-mail.

In my final year at AAC, I superved a team of up to four coordinators while reporting to the Director of the Housing Department. I managed rental and utility assistance programs, and co-managed residential programs for low-income individuals seeking to obtain or maintain affordable housing. This involved writing and editing reports to funders, collecting and analyzing data, corresponding with tenants, landlords, and external providers, requesting and tracking assistance checks, and balancing funding budgets alongside an independent finance department.

Prior to managing the rental and utility assistance programs, I coordinated one of the programs, assisting low-income individuals in maintaining affordable and sustainable living situations through financial assistance and referrals to other agencies with representative payee programs, legal advocates, medical or mental health care services, and substance use counseling. I acted as a liaison between tenants and their landlords, property managers, leasing officers, loan servicing company representatives, or mortgage lenders and maintaining client files throughout the application process.

Prior to working in the Housing Department, I provided low-threshold case management services to any of the 600 clients within a Stabilization Program, along with one other advocate.. During this time, I assisted with the development of best practices for using new database software during its integration, while creating individualized service care plans with clients to address their needs, and connected them to resources for housing, medical and mental health care, transportation, financial assistance, and more. This also involved coordinating with outside providers, including doctors, nurses, therapists, case managers, SSA and DTA staff, correctional officers, and hospice staff.
