Ben provides IT support to both corporate and individual customers. He offers objective advice on the purchases of equipment, devices, and services. He also implements, manages, and troubleshoots infrastructure (e.g., hardwired and Wi-Fi networks, VOIP and cable television) and SaaS environments (e.g., Office 365 and Google Workspace). Ben regularly provides one-on-one tutoring to customers, ranging from complex issues to more basic ones (e.g., contact, calendar, and email syncing; migrating to a new email account). Ben founded Comportec Technologies, LLC in high school and has served clients on a part-time basis since then. Since graduating college in 2006, he has prioritized his risk management career and developing skills as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) over his technology firm. Although the time he dedicated to technology consulting was limited, he continued to learn about, experiment with, and follow developments in information technology (IT). Ben's professional focus is now fully dedicated to developing Comportec and serving its clients on a full-time basis.Please note that this firm is not a CPA firm.

Ben managed Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance engagements for healthcare clients. His responsibilities included walkthroughs, process documentation, and the QA of staff and seniors' workpapers. Ben also managed one of the engagement's billing activities, which included the assimilation of the team's hours and expenses, the monitoring of engagement economics, and the creation of progress updates and invoices.

Ben managed the execution of Internal Audit projects at Universal American. In addition to overseeing and participating in recurring (cyclical) audits, he built the yearly audit plan based upon feedback he collected from key process owners and the executive leadership team. He also created the annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) using information he obtains from the organization's Finance, Tax, and Legal executives. Quarterly, Ben prepared updates that his supervisor, the VP of Internal Audit, presented to the Audit Committee.

Ben started his career with Protiviti as a Consultant in the Vienna, Virginia office. He was promoted into the Senior Consultant position and later to Manager. Ben worked on and led projects primarily for clients in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare, and Biotech industries. He gained extensive experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance projects, process improvement activities, and internal audit while at Protiviti. Ben also mentored and managed newly-hired and experienced Consultants and Senior Consultants that reported to him on client projects.
