About Benjamin Ripple

My entire life, games have helped me form lifelong connections. My older brother always made time to play games with me, we bonded over Elevator Action and Donkey Kong Country playing life or level. I met my lifelong best friend 25 years ago because he was new in town and looking for someone to play tabletop games with him. When my friend group split up to go to different colleges, we remained close by adventuring through Azeroth together in Wow nearly every day while we talked on the Ventrillo server my friends dad set up for us. During the decade I have spent as a designer and design leader in the industry I feel incredibly lucky to have had opportunities to lead teams ranging from three person QA pods to 40 people across three continents. I've been able to leverage my adaptable empathetic leadership style, comprehensive understanding of cross genre design principles and ability to communicate with developers of all disciplines to make some amazing experiences played by hundreds of millions of players. Most of all, I am proud of the dozens of talented designers I have had the opportunity to work with and Mentor.I love games in the way only someone who has had their life shaped by gaming can, and I suspect I always will.
